In the beginning
Roxanne , with the first baby she delivered,
back in 1988 during her traditional apprenticeship. She was 19.

Roxanne attended 180 births as part of her midwifery training program and completed the Department of Health course for midwives
Rural midwifery
For four years Roxanne ran a solo rural practice and attended about 25 births a year, all home births.
Time out for her own births
After getting married in 1995, Roxanne took a break from practicing and had three home births of her own. (She had other midwives, but insisted on doing her babies' newborn exams herself.)

When Roxanne returned to midwifery practice in 2009 as a single mom, she did two internships, one in Senegal and one in the Philippines in order to gain cross cultural experience.
Back into the work

Roxanne became licensed again in Texas in 2012 and has been practicing full time ever since, both in free-standing birth centers and at home births.
In 2022 Roxanne became as IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). She provides breastfeeding support for both her home birth clients and those who seek her out for independant lactation services.

Roxanne is booking midwifery clients with due dates through August 15th (with black-out dates Aug 15th-Oct 26th) and October 26th 2025 and later
She is currently seeing lactation clients both virtually and in person, and booking Havening sessions.
